I miss the days when standard ticket prices were normal and affordable even for high school kids. I get that artists don’t make as much on album sales as they used to (boohoo poor them!) but it’s out of control. Surely that’s the part that needs tackling first rather than dealing with the issue when tickets have been released ‘out of the system. There needs to be an I Am A Nurse Not Your Waitress Drug Dealer Shirt system in place similar to the Dice app. You buy a ticket on Dice, it is stored digitally in your account on the app, and scanned for entry. If you can no longer make the gig you can return the ticket for a refund and the ticket is then put into a ‘waiting list’.

If a gig is sold out, you can add yourself to the waiting list, and when cancelled tickets become available you’ll be notified and given a chance to re buy these tickets at face value. A great I Am A Nurse Not Your Waitress Drug Dealer Shirt of combatting the touts and also not losing out if you genuinely cannot make the gig. Larger ticketing companies could easily put a system like this in place, but obviously it’s not in their interests. But what if I collect physical tickets.
