This one’s an interesting little question isn’t it sam hubbard a guy that has had consistently high sac productivity throughout his career as a cincinnati bengal outside of one year and has been the beneficiary certainly I think of playing on the same line as some other very talented players and again does benefit a little bit I think from the the havoc that trey hendrickson creates joseph osai really excited all bengals fans in the preseason last year but that’s all we’ve seen from him and there’s I think a question as to how much he gets on the field how much of a role he has and how much he really unseats sam hubbard for for for opportunities for snaps jeff gunter is a very interesting inclusion on this list I have a hard time making an argument there i’d be curious to hear mike’s reasoning because we just talked about gunter as a guy who’s gonna have to fight to make the team so maybe just more bullish on gunter than than most and and bj hill being the only three tech the only real three tech that we can count on right now anyway that we know anything about that isn’t a rookie can make things spicybut i’m inclined to go sam hubbard here as much as I would like it to be joseph osai having like a 10 sack season and being a premier pass rusher the way you know um carl lawson looked early in his career getting after the passer in a big way but with a little bit more productivity I would like to be joseph aside that would be exciting that would tell you something about the future and what you have in osai

Well and too they really lost a lot of offseason practice time last year and and not just that but just time with the trading staff the strength and conditioning staff all that stuff was lost last year in covid and and that’s a big deal for a young player uh and and that’s often where you see the jump that these guys make from year one to year two is physically being in that nfl weight room so now the ability to go in there this offseason and do that has been really nice for them and just this practice time is invaluable in their progression no question about it the uh the weight room stuff is invaluable as well plus plus plus just the sheer experience of life in the nfl how to take care of your body how to get to a training camp uh now with with um you know with otas already in the books and and and the stack days as john harbaugh likes to talk aboutand I think there’s a big reason why uh there is that big jump but also too the other thing is you know. And i’ve never seen this many people in the stadium so I am so excited to see our players out in the community and see that relationship between the fans and the players and it just seems so specialand i’m so excited to finally witness that this year I got a kick out of every one of the players that have come up to the podium the last couple of days have said man it’s great to see you guys again and it’s great to see everybody in the in the in the crowd it’s great to see the kids.
